I'm Back with a GREAT deal I got tonight!
Well I haven't posted in a couple of weeks because my dad was in the hospital, but I thought I would post the awesome deal I got tonight at Rite Aide. Unfortunately the sale ended tonight, but I'm sure it will come around again. I was able to get 14 Cover Girl face products like foundation, blush, and eye shadow for $3. Yes you heard me right... $3. It should have been FREE, but the cashier didn't do something right.... I just paid the $3 anyway because I wanted to get home to my dad. It was Approximately $120.00 worth of make-up for $3... so I'm not going to complain. The lady checking me out couldn't believe it. She even called another employee up to the counter and said,"look at all that stuff she got for like $3" The way I did it for that cheap was.... they had Cover Girl on sale for buy one get one free. Then, I had 7 buy one get one free Cover Girl coupons. Therefore it should have all been free. I got 2 products for every coupon I had. I hope this helps you in the future. The BOGO coupons are a great thing when the store is also have a BOGO sale on the item .

Family Emergency
Due to a family emergency I have had to take a break from Blessed Shopper Blogging. My father is in ICU and I am there at the hospital with him on most days. I am very thankful though to have a stocked house full of food for the kids and my husband. I plan to continue this blog as soon as my dad is well. Thank you for reading and keep on coupon shopping!

My Super Doubles Shopping Trip
I went to the Kroger in Bellmeade on Harding Road and they are having Super Doubles through Tuesday. The people there are So nice compared to all the other Kroger's I went to. I will let you know I was there for about 4 hours. It was CRAZY! It wasn't crowded or anything it is just that I went in thinking certain things were on sale, and they were not. That was my MISTAKE! I thought there new sales started on Monday but they start on Sunday. That would make sense being that the Sunday paper has an add for thier sale. Anyway the reason it took so long is I had to make a fly by the seat of my pants plan B. So since I had cut all my coupons, Praise the LORD! I had them all with me an organized. The best deals I got were on MEAT! Yay! I needed meat since I have a lot of pantry items now. Below I have listed the other deals. The prices given that I got things for are an estimate. I don't have time to scrutinize my receipt but I will tell you I saved $440.20 and I only spent $188.48. I wanted to take advantage of all my $1 and $1.50 coupons because Super doubles doesn't come around a lot. Sorry there isn't a picture it was all I could do to get it put up before midnight.

Harris Teeter and Kroger Super Doubles
What are Super Doubles You Ask?
Super Doubles is when they double any coupon $1.98 and under. Usually Kroger only doubles 50 cents and under. So get all those $1 off and $1.50 off coupons out and head to a Kroger near a Harris Teeter for the best deals. Call the store ahead of time to make sure they are doing the Super Doubles. Harris Teeter is definitely doing it, but some Kroger Stores in Middle TN are doing it and you will get better deals at the Kroger. Here is a link to Faithful Provisions post about it.
Please let me know if you go, and what the best deals you find were. I will not be able to go until Sunday. SO GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY!
Rumor has it that the Franklin Rd. and Edmondson Pike Krogers are doing Super Doubles and the Kroger in Bellvue on Highway 100. Have Fun....and please call before you go just to double Check!

Learning To Use Coupons Day 4
Now that you are organized it is time to start checking the Sales list at Southern Savers. I have learned, that there is absolutely no way to shop every store on the list every week unless you spend 40 hours a week planning shopping trips.
Cheerios- $1.00 per box
Yogurt- free
Apple Sauce - Free
Mrs. Pauls Fish - Free
Bread and Charmin were regular price. The charmin was on sale and I had 50 cents off but the bread wasn't on sale and I didn't have a coupon but it's our favorite bread so I splurged on it. All of it for around $15.00. I save $68.00. The Cereal alone not on sale would have been over $40.00 and it cost me $8. People look at you kind of funny when your buying 8 boxes of cereal, but you have to stock up when its on sale.
I personally prefer Publix (above picture is my latest deal at Publix) and CVS. Publix is especially good because they take copmpetitors coupons. So if you have a Food Lion Coupon, Manufacture Coupon , and Publix coupon for a certain item, you will most likely get it for next to nothing or free. Free groceries are the best groceries, in my opinion. I will tell you though, different Publix stores have different competitors and policies. One Publix may take Target coupons when the other Publix 1 mile down the road will not. The best thing to do is ask to speak to the manager and ask them. They want you to shop there and they will not mind you asking.
Also if Publix has an item buy 1 get one free, you don't have to buy 2 items. The items ring up half off. The Publix Sales come out on Wednesday every week where most of the others are Friday and Sunday.
CVS is my favorite drugstore because I can get in and out of there without having to spend a dime.Your first purchase you will have to use cash but after that you may have to pay $1:00 here or there to cover tax but the ECB that print become your cash to use at CVS. It is all explained on Southern Savers.
Your homework for wednesday is look over the Publix list on Southern Savers and if you need to print some of the coupons, print them and then see if you have any of the coupons from the paper and then go get some good deals.

Learning to Use Coupons Day 3- The Binder
One of the most time consuming things about couponing is organizing them. Some people use a card file with dividers others use an accordion file but I have decided to use a 3 ring binder method. This is definitely more time consuming but once you get in the store it's the easiest to use because it is so organized. I have all the coupons in baseball card sleeves and I have them divided into sections. I have a lot of dividers so that its more organized. For example I have all the food in the front separated into Meat, Dairy, Produce, Cereal, Snacks, Canned, Frozen, etc. then I have the non food items in the back separated in sections labeled soap, shampoo, medicine, razors, lotions, etc... you get the picture. If I have 10 of one coupon they are all together in one slot. That way when I'm in the store I can see at a glance what I have and I don't have to thumb through a bunch of coupons. It also helps when I look on Southern Savers for the deals at each store because she list the deal and the coupon or coupons needed for each deal, with the binder method I can find the coupons very quickly. So if you got your papers today I would suggest cutting your coupons by taking each insert apart and stacking like pages to cut, so that you only have to cut each page once. Then organize them whichever way you think will work for you. You can also read Southern Savers article on Organization.
So get cutting and organizing. You will have a much easier time in the store if you do.
Publix Sunday Penny Item
If you have $10 worth of groceries on Sunday at Publix you can get the Penny item. Today it is a Big Roll of Publix Paper Towels! Go get yours today, and don't forget the fish and applesause coupons. Remenber to buy your papers!

Learning to Coupon Shop.... Day 2
- Go Here and where you see the box for area code type in area code 30013.
- The search by brand for Mrs. Paul's.
- A coupon should come up for $3.00 off Fish. Put a check in that box.
- Do a search for Mott's and a coupon should come up for $.50 off Apple Sauce.
- Print those two coupons from every computer you own in your house. It's legal....don't worry. Now you need to Go to Southern Savers Food Lion Printables and print the Mott's Applesauce coupon there. '
- Go to your nearest Publix and they should have a Toss up for Cash flyer there. If not try another Publix, the one in Goodletsville had them last night. I can never find them in Hermitage.
- Take your coupons and use the $1.00 coupon for Mrs.Pauls in the flyer and the Printed Coupon for $3.00 of Mrs. Pauls and find the fish and its yours...FREE! and the same goes for the Applesauce if you use the Food Lion Coupon and the one you printed.
Publix also has Buy One Get One Free Deals but you only have to buy one and it will ring up 1/2 price. Only buy as many as you have both coupons for to get the best deal.
Have Fun and start stocking up for the winter !!!!
Learning To Use Coupons ...Day 1
I have decided to try and post all I have learned about coupons to share with my friends. I would like to start off by saying that if I can do this so can you. Also I would like to thank Southern Savers for equipping with the information I need every week to match up coupons and sales at the different stores. All you have to do is shop one time, save over $100, and your hooked.
I am a little hesitant to do this blog because there will be typos. I do not have enough time in my day to proofread and to fix all the grammar, spelling and punctuation errors. I will use it to post quick deals you can do easily without spending all day doing it. Feel free to subscribe to the blog to get the deal updates.
On the sidebar you will see links to the sources I use to find the deals. I am not going to post all the sales from all the stores like they do, but I will try to post what I have decided to get for my family and how I did it.
The first thing you need to do is start collecting coupons. Right now at most stores through September you can get Sunday papers for $1. I usually get 5- 10 papers depending on the coupon inserts that will be in there that given week. You can find the info to that at Southern Savers as well. Now, we are going to do this in baby steps so you don't get overwhelmed, so your homework for tomorrow is to make sure you buy at least 5 newspapers and then read the getting Started Page at Southern Savers for Supermarkets.

Triple Coupons Last Week at Kroger
I am so excited. I went to a couponing seminar last Friday night at the Radissson with my friends Val and Regina. It was held by Jeanie from www.southernsavers.com. It was very informative and I learned a lot. I had heard before the seminar that the Kroger in Bellmeade was tripling coupons, so when I got home I started planning my trip to Kroger. Well I went today and below you can see how it went. It took me 9 transactions because they would only let you use 20 coupons per transaction. Believe it or not I had the friendliest cashier ever. He could not believe how much I was saving. I kind of felt like a celebrity because people were watching each transaction just to see how much I saved every time. What is really funny is after 6 transactions I thought I was done and headed out to car just to realize I had locked my keys in the car. I called Allen, my husband, to come and rescue me but I knew it would take about an hour in traffic for him to get there, SOOOO.... I decided I might as well make the most out of this waiting. The bag boy wheeled my cart full of groceries to the dairy cooler so nothing would go bad and I was off for another three transactions. Below you can see that I saved a whopping $370.52 and I came home with a coupon that printed to save $4.50 off my next trip so really I saved $375.99. I don't think I have had this much fun in a long time.
